Career History Since Graduation |
Attended the University of Windsor for the Master of Human Kinetics program. Married Bill Christie in 1980 and moved to Hyde Park, Chicago, Illinois where Bill completed his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago. Moved to Nashville TN in 1989 where I work at Vanderbilt University. |
Most Memorable York University Experience |
Hanging out with Sue and Paul Culliton and Sue Whitig in classes and after class in the coffee shops/pubs. I loved all the nooks and crannies to have a coffee and study. Having wonderful and mentoring Professors in the School of Kinesiology. Graduation Day was wonderful as the University pulled out all the stops. |
York University Anecdote or Highlight |
Working with frogs in the Biomechanics lab to see first hand how a stretched muscle performs better than a tight muscle. It was one of those 'aha' moments when I actually could visualize the difference and recognize the benefits of stretching. |
Highlight(s) of Professional Career |
Working with graduate students in our masters programs to promote academic achievement and personal development and to offer support in times of personal or family crisis or emergency. Collaborating with students to promote inclusion and leadership opportunities. |
