Highlights from the Lecture:

Gillian McCollough was an animated speaker, engaging KINE 3000 students with an account of her intertwined personal, athletic, and professional journeys. Gillian discussed the central role of sport in her early life in Canada, and the influential position of family, coaches, and teammates throughout her sport development. Gillian’s defining personal characteristics of initiative, work ethic, perseverance, and determination to overcome challenges were made evident to students throughout her talk. Gillian reinforced the importance of connecting with people and community, and remaining relevant in a changing society. Upon the conclusion of her talk, Gillian challenged students to some York Lions trivia, got students excited about upcoming varsity events, and shared some York Lions attire!
