Career History Since Graduation Following graduation from York University, I worked coaching elite athletes for several years . I later enrolled in medical school and completed my undergraduate degree (MD) and residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at McMaster University. I then worked as a clinical fellow in spinal cord injury rehabilitation and completed a Masters in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Toronto.

I am a Clinician Scientist appointed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Toronto and a Senior Scientist within the Neural Engineering and Therapeutics Team at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute.

I am the Medical Lead of the Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Program at Toronto Rehab’s Lyndhurst Centre within University Health Network, Canada's largest freestanding spinal cord injury rehabilitation centre. My clinical and research expertise is in the prevention and treatment of secondary health conditions among individuals living with spinal cord injury and their related health service needs. My recent work has focused on the associations between changes in body composition and multi-morbidity among individuals living with chronic spinal cord injury.

Highlight(s) of Professional Career I led publication of the Rick Hansen Institute sponsored E-scan Atlas “Capturing Capacity in Canadian SCI Rehabilitation www.idapt.com/research/scimanifesto. Together with my colleague Dr. Bayley, I co-led the SCI-HIGH project aimed at developing structure, process and outcome indicators to advance SCI rehabilitation care in Canada by 2020.
