Career History Since Graduation Bill Hatanaka is a Corporate Director serving as the non-executive Chair of NGX Inc. a provider of electronic trading, central couterparty clearing and data services to North American natural gas and electricity markets.

Mr. Hatanaka is the former president and CEO of the OPSEU pension Trust (OPTrust), a defined benefit pension plan jointly sponsored by the Government of Ontario and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union.

Prior to this, Mr. Hatanaka served as the Group Head of Wealth management, TD Bank Group, as a member of the Senior Executive Team with responsibility for building TD's Global Wealth and Asset Management business. He also served as the inaugural Chair of the Banks Diversity Leadership Council.

Prior to joining TD, Mr. Hatanaka was the Chief Operating Officer, Wealth Management, Royal Bank of Canada. He also served in senior executive roles at brokerage firms Richardson Greenshields of Canada and Midland Walwyn Capital.

Mr. Hatanaka has served on public boards including the TMX (Chair, HRC, Derivatives Committee), and TD Ameritrade (Risk Committee).

He is the past Chair of the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) and is currently on the Board of Governors for York University (Finance and Audit Committe e, Pension Committee).

Before entering the financial services industry, he played professional football in the Canadian Football League, and was member of the 1976 Rough Riders Grey Cup Championship team.

Originally from Bathurst New Brunswick, he graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Sociology and Economics and completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.
