Community Involvements/Contributions (Local to International) |
I have been a parishioner at St. Isaac Jogues for the past 25 years. Over that time period our family has helped out in various parish initiatives but continue to host Coffee Sunday after Holy Mass on a regular basis. I had spent five summers doing charity work in the Masai Mara in Kenya with a number of underprivileged school communities offering support and expertise to help develop and refine their school instructional programs. My charity work in the community through the Centenary Hospital, Angel Foundation, Special Olympics and Free the Children has further strengthened my resolve as a Catholic role model. I had also initiated many charity initiatives during my time as principal at St. Brendan’s. Our school community held ShareLife weeks throughout all my six years and raised the largest amount of donations for any of the schools in this parish. I also organized the Knights of Columbus Free Throw competitions as well as donating food and clothing for the refugee committee of St. Joseph’s. Our annual Christmas Toy Drive saw thousands of gifts donated to needy children throughout my time at this school. We annually created Christmas baskets for the St. Vincent de Paul and the church would deliver these many baskets to families in need. We organized an annual Family Advent Mass and truly tried to build a strong relationship between home, school and church. |
